Introduction
Smart Innovation Center s.r.o. is a science and technology park with a business incubator, focused on supporting innovation, technology entrepreneurship, and collaboration between companies, research organizations, and universities. The company’s primary objective is to create an environment that fosters innovative entrepreneurship in areas oriented towards SMART technologies, Industry 4.0, innovation activities, space sectors, and others.
The company operates infrastructure for the development of technology companies and projects, providing modern workspaces and professional services that support innovation, technology transfer, and the development of entrepreneurial competencies.
Key components of the company’s infrastructure include:
• SmartPark Brno – an innovation center providing a science and technology park environment for research, development, and innovation in biotechnology, biomedical, smart, and space sectors.
• SKELET Ostrava – a complex science and technology park and business incubator. Building A serves the development of innovative companies and projects in the field of SMART solutions, while Building B complements the park’s services with multifunctional spaces.Through these activities, Smart Innovation Center s.r.o. supports the creation and development of technology projects, collaboration between companies and research organizations, and the transfer of research and development results into practice. Description of technology transfer
Technology transfer at Smart Innovation Center s.r.o. is carried out through the provision of modern infrastructure, mentoring, expert services, and the sharing of know-how, enabling companies to accelerate product development, test prototypes, and integrate new technologies into practice. The company actively supports the transfer of knowledge, research results, and innovative technologies into real-world applications.

Innovative entrepreneurship training
Smart Innovation Center s.r.o. actively supports the development of innovative entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial competencies by creating an environment in which innovative teams and early-stage entrepreneurs gain practical experience, professional guidance, and mentoring already in the initial phases of their business and technological development.
The development of innovative entrepreneurship is also implemented through cooperation with regional institutions that support business and innovation, in particular the Regional Development Agency of South Moravia, the Chamber of Commerce of South Moravia, the Czech Chamber of Commerce, and the regional office of CzechInvest. In collaboration with these partners, seminars, workshops, and professional meetings are organized for companies operating within Smart Innovation Center.
These activities are aimed at increasing the competitiveness of innovative companies and cover areas such as legal and grant advisory, accounting and economic support, technological development, and strategic business management.
Support also includes the incubation and settlement of innovative companies. Early-stage entrepreneurs are offered the opportunity to join the business incubator at SmartPark Brno and SKELET Ostrava, gaining access to professional expertise, infrastructure, mentoring, and a network of professional contacts.
An important element of fostering innovative entrepreneurship is also linking the business environment with the academic and research sphere. Smart Innovation Center s.r.o. is a key element of the regional innovation infrastructure, connecting technology companies, startups, research institutions, and universities. The company creates an environment that supports the creation, growth, and development of innovative projects, thereby contributing to strengthening the region’s competitiveness and its technological ecosystem.
Main Role in the Regional Innovation Infrastructure
• Linking companies and the academic environment – SIC facilitates connections between technology companies, research organizations, and students, supporting the transfer of knowledge and innovations into practice.
• Support for startups and innovative projects – through the incubators at SKELET Ostrava and SmartPark Brno, SIC provides an environment where early-stage entrepreneurs and technology companies can test and commercialize their innovations.

Cooperation with universities
Smart Innovation Center s.r.o. develops cooperation with universities and research institutions to support innovation, technology-driven entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer into practice. This collaboration is mainly carried out through activities within the infrastructure of SmartPark Brno (Masaryk University) and SKELET Ostrava (VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, University of Ostrava).
